Noise Beneath the Floor became a band by accident. Vocalist/guitarist Gavin McIntire found themselves alone on stage in Columbus when the rest of their band no-showed, so Jade Marié climbed on stage and filled in on the spot. While looking for a bass player to augment Jade’s keyboards, Gavin found sandwich artist Garrett Pavlansky at a local Subway and recruited him to fill out the lineup. When planning their self-titled debut EP, they messaged Chris Teti (TWIABP, Misery Signals) before they wrote a single song. The resulting work—a preview of their debut LP A Year in Exile due later this year—blends atmospheric indie-rock with indelible accessibility.
